Karangahake to Waihi Beach 29 June, 2014
Ron arranged for a beautiful day for this ride through the Karangahake Gorge, and down to Waihi Beach.
Along the new trail between Waikino and Waihi, Susan spied this lovely waterfall.
Following a path from the rim of the Martha Mine, we came across a smaller waterfall.
Having lunch on the deck of the Waihi Surf Lifesaving Club, we had an uninterrupted view out to Mayor Island.
Apart from the grasses.
On the return, Ron decided to take the path through the Gorge rather than go back through the tunnel.
Being very daring walking along the very narrow strip of concrete.
Here's Ron's photo showing what it was like when he had planned to take us along here in August, 2012.

You photo me - I photo you.
The bridge at the end of the tunnel is way in the distance.

Some may have been lucky enough to see this crepuscular display on the way home.
Crepuscular trees.
