Waioeka Gorge

Three of our group decided they would take the main road down
the Waioeka Gorge instead of riding the Motu Road.
It's a long gorge - in fact it's a long and winding road.
58 km of beautiful road winding down through the bush.
Sometimes the road is just stuck on the cliff not far above the river.
This historic "harp" bridge was built in the early '20s to serve the
Tauranga Valley community which no longer exists.
