South Island Tour 2011Motueka to Pohara
Tuesday 15 March
As the postcards in Takaka say:-
IT'S ONLY A HILL - GET OVER IT!!
Today was the the one we had all been looking forward to with varying degrees of trepidation.
This was the day we rode the dreaded Takaka Hill.
The climbing - about 9km of it - starts.

Following a climb to 791 m it was appropriate to record the occasion.
Margaret and Maurice had no one with them to take their photos,
but Ron & Susan had Neale & Lyn, and vice versa, while Mack got a
guy from Adelaide to push the button.
Ron has a peep at the first hairpin on the descent.
