JUNE
Winter Solstice at Pikehina:Thursday 18 June to Sunday 21st

This is the clubs’ traditional Solstice long weekend that for many years has been led by Garth and Judy Barfoot. Margaret has stepped up this year and has mapped out 2 full days and a half day of great riding in the BOP. The weekend is reinstated after being cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Margaret has arranged to rent a comfortable large holiday home
at Pukehina Beach (sleeps 20) and we need at least 16 confirmed bookings to go ahead with the weekend. Depending on numbers the cost per person for 3 nights is in the range of $125 to $135. Bookings and payment must be made by June 8th. Please contact Margaret asap to confirm your place and for further information.
AUGUST
Hub Tour Dargaville – Mon 17th – Thu 20th August – 2 to 3 days riding

Monday – Arrive in Dargaville at whatever time works for you
Tuesday & Wednesday – Day rides Thursday – A shortish ride somewhere south of Dargaville on the way back to Auckland.
Three night’s accommodation. Mon 17th, Tue 18th & Wed 19th.
Book your own accommodation from either:
1/ The Central Hotel, 18-22 Victoria St, Dargaville, Ph 09 439 8034
1 x twin share – large room – $50.00 per person
3 x double rooms – $80.00 per room – maximum 2 adults per room
5 x single rooms – $60.00 per person
Bathrooms are shared facilities with plenty of hot water. Rooms are supplied with linen including towels and soap. There is a guest lounge with kettle, toaster and microwave. Within walking distance to the hotel are many cafes that open at 6am, these are very affordable, but you are most welcome to bring your own breakfast food into the hotel.
Crockery and cutlery are provided. The hotel supplies tea, coffee etc. Bikes can be safely
stored.

Rooms for $70- $110 and we will probably eat some meals there.
They also have facilities for breakfast/lunch making and for bike storage.

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER (3 tours)
1. Hub Tour of Manawatu: Oct Sun 25th – Mon 2nd Nov

8 DAYS RIDING – this is a new type of tour – based in 3 locations(hubs) rather than moving on every day.
Arrive Cheltenham Sun evening 25th Oct, ride Mon, Tues, Wed. Then travel to Palmerston North on the Wednesday after ride and ride Thurs, Fri, Sat. Travel to Feilding on Sat after ride and ride Sun, Mon. Tour finishes after the ride on Mon 2nd Nov.
NB: Please contact Simon to go on the tour list. The group size will be limited to 18 riders.
Simon will book the accommodation at the Cheltenham Hotel to make life easier for the Hotel owner. There are beds for 10 people at the hotel and once this is full the remaining 8 people can be accommodated by either a) up to 4 camper vans in the paddock next door or b) some staying in Fielding. Once Simon confirms your place on the tour you are then
responsible for booking and paying for your own accommodation at Palmerston North and
Fielding.

2 East Cape Supported Tour 16th Nov – 26 Nov
Please note: This tour was postponed in April due to Covid-19.
The original riders have been offered places on this tour and happily all the original April group are able to go. Exactly same itinerary as April, arrive Opotiki Holiday Park on the Mon 16th November, ride starts Tues 17th Nov and the tour finishes back at Opotiki Thurs 26th
Nov. Places sometimes become available so if you are really keen put your name on the waiting list with Simon, 021 985186.
3. Taranaki Tunnel Unsupported tour, start 16 Nov end date is flexible
This year we are running an unsupported tour in November at the same time as the usual
supported tour. We will also be running the traditional February/March unsupported tour
early in 2021.

Seven Tunnels – Starting 16th November – no more than two weeks:
This tour based on the Taranaki 2010 tour (https://acta.org.nz/ttttt/tttttpixindex10.htm) by Mack. This will be unsupported and tents etc will be required as mostly camping. This is a bit of an explore, and a recce, and hopefully an adventure. Mostly backcountry roads. May also try to do some interesting walks to explore this backcountry. A fun take our time tour to
enjoy this unique region. At this stage I am looking for expressions of interest. If this appeals
